Perhaps you're feeling overwhelmed by life's pressures, or stuck in patterns that no longer serve you. Maybe you're struggling with difficult emotions, facing a major life change, or simply feeling lost and unsure of your direction. You might be questioning relationships, battling anxiety or low mood, or carrying the weight of past experiences that continue to affect your daily life. Whatever you're facing, you don't have to navigate it alone.
Starting counselling can feel daunting. That's completely understandable. I offer a free 20-minute telephone consultation where we can have a gentle conversation about what you're looking for. There's no pressure. Just a chance to see if we might work well together.
I work relationally with adults aged 18 and over. As a Humanistic Counsellor and BACP member, I offer both short-term and long-term therapy in a safe, non-judgemental space. Sessions can be face-to-face from my practice in Dartington or online, depending on what works best for you.
Counselling offers you the opportunity to pause, reflect, and explore what's happening in your life. Whether you're dealing with anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, workplace stress, bereavement, or major life changes, our work together can help you understand yourself more deeply and discover new ways of moving forward.
Counselling offers you time. Time to pause, reflect, and really look at what's happening in your life. It's a space that belongs entirely to you.
Through our conversations, you might begin to notice patterns in your relationships, your responses, your choices. You may start to understand yourself differently. Perhaps you'll discover strengths you didn't know you had, or find new ways of seeing old problems.
Working relationally means we'll pay attention to what happens between us too. How do you connect with others? What do you need to feel safe? These insights can be incredibly valuable. Some people come for just a few sessions to work through a specific difficulty. Others stay longer, using the space for deeper exploration. There's no right or wrong way, it's about what works for you.
The goal isn't to fix you because you're not broken, you’re human. It's about helping you find your own answers, your own path forward.
Life throws many challenges our way. You might be struggling with relationships and connection, navigating major transitions like bereavement or redundancy, or dealing with anxiety, depression, or overwhelming stress. Work pressures, identity questions, health challenges, or the weight of difficult past experiences can all feel isolating.
Sometimes we're exploring deeper questions about meaning and purpose, or facing cultural and social challenges that make us feel like we don't quite fit.
Whatever's troubling you, it's worth exploring. This isn't an exhaustive list. If something's affecting your wellbeing, there's space for it here.
My practice is based on the Dartington Estate on the outskirts of Totnes, which is easily accessible from Newton Abbot, Paignton, Torquay, Dartmouth, and Kingsbridge and the surrounding areas. The location offers a calm, countryside setting that many clients find helpful for their therapeutic work.
For those who prefer online sessions, you can access therapy from the comfort of your own home, anywhere in the UK, using secure video calling platforms.
Payment is by bank transfer before each session. I'll provide banking details, and you can set up a standing order for regular sessions if convenient.
Fees are charged for all sessions other than pre-arranged holidays, or in the unusual event of my having to cancel session. Although client cancelled sessions will incur a fee, I will try to offer an alternative session time within the same week. When this isn't possible, the usual fee will apply.
Taking that first step towards getting support takes courage, and I'm here to help make the journey as comfortable as possible for you. I'd love to hear from you and discuss how I might be able to help. You can get in touch by filling out the contact form.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
